Your dryer may be trying to tell you something
A restricted vent rarely looks like a problem from the outside. These are the signs worth paying attention to.
Clothes take more than one cycle to dry
Longer drying times are the most common early sign of a clogged vent.
The dryer or clothes feel unusually hot
When hot air can't escape, heat builds up inside the dryer.
A burning or musty smell while drying
Lint near the heat source or trapped moisture can both cause odors.
Extra lint around or behind the dryer
Lint escaping at the back often means a loose or blocked connection.
The laundry room gets hot or humid
Warm, damp air is leaking into the room instead of going outside.
The outside vent flap barely opens
Weak airflow at the exterior cap points to a restriction in the line.
Your lint screen doesn't catch all the lint
It catches a lot, but small particles still travel into the vent and build up over time. Cleaning the lint screen is important, but it isn't the same as cleaning the whole dryer vent system.

How often should my dryer vent be cleaned?
For most households, once a year is a good rule. Big families, pet owners and homes with long or complicated vent runs may need it more often. We'll give you a recommendation based on what we find.
I clean my lint screen every load. Isn't that enough?
The lint screen catches a lot, but not all of it. Fine lint passes through and collects inside the vent, especially at bends and low spots. Cleaning the full vent is the only way to clear it.
What's wrong with the white vinyl or foil hose behind my dryer?
Flexible vinyl and foil duct crushes easily, traps lint in its ridges and restricts airflow. We replace it with smooth-wall metal duct, which stays open and moves air much better.
My vent goes through the attic, crawlspace or roof. Can you still help?
Yes. Attic runs, crawlspaces, rooftop terminations and third-floor vents are a regular part of our work.
What happens if you need to open a wall or ceiling?
We explain it in your estimate before any work starts. Where it makes sense, we can install an access panel so the area looks finished and the vent stays reachable later.
Do you work with HOAs and property managers?
